The MIT Arts, Commerce and Science College was established in 2007 by the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEERS, MIT-PUNE). The college Library which saw the day of life the same year itself has a rich collection in discipline like Computer, Electronics, Mathematics, Statistics, Management, Commerce, Arts, and literary books. The Library changed as per needs and guide lines of the management. We added new sections like competitive exam its realms.
Books are friends to all intellectual people. Books are treasure houses of knowledge which never fail to help us in difficult times. Man could make progress because he can record his knowledge and information and pass it on to the next generation. Libraries are the temples for civilized societies. Library plays a very important role in the curricular development & to satisfy the readers thirst for knowledge. MIT Arts, Science and Commerce College library is to participate actively in the educational mission of the college through collection and dissemination of information to meet the curricular and general needs of the students, faculty and staff.
Library also plays a vital role in acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge. MIT Arts, Commerce and Science College library system supports the teaching-learning program of institute. MIT Arts, Commerce and Science College library has an exceptional collection of text books, reference books, general books, journals and magazines, bound volumes, CD-ROMs, online resources and other reading material. Books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. It has excellent infrastructure to meet its requirements, all its operations are computerized using Autolib software and provides access to the collection through OPAC. MIT Arts, Commerce and Science College library follows open access system that allows users a direct access to the library collection.
Library Location: - Library is located on the second floor of the college building. The built up area of the library is 7950.33 sq. ft. (795 sq. mt). The reading hall facility is available for the students and faculty members. It consists of journal section, reference section, circulation section, Stack section, Acquisition and technical section.
In order to provide optimal service to readers, the library remains open on 6 days a week.
